With a discography of over 100 albums and an extensive worldwide touring schedule, Canadian Brass is an important pioneer in bringing brass music to mass audiences everywhere. As this new recording reflects one more time, the hallmark of any Canadian Brass performance is entertainment, spontaneity, and, of course, fun.

The album, featuring music of Vince Guaraldi and Luther Henderson, pays tribute to some of the most popular animated specials created for the holidays. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and O Tannenbaum. All find their place in this collection, with special kudos to "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch..." Additionally, there are some clever arrangements of classical pieces, such as Bach's Bells (based on the Sinfonia from Cantata BWV 29), and Beethoven's Für Elise, in a set of flashy variations. True to form, the Canadian Brass infuses these timeless classics with verve and humor while keeping the music lively with commendable virtuosity.

Canadian Brass' Christmas Time is Here is an interesting, zesty album, and a humorous addition to an overcrowded Holiday Music catalogue.
